It’s time for two more Julia’s Picks!
One of these is pretty predictable, especially if you read this post. I’ve been talking about Me Before You by JoJo Moyes to anyone who’ll listen for months. I am praying we eventually choose this as a book club book… just because I know how much the girls would adore it. I’ve loaned it to two people and they’re just as taken with the story as I was. I won’t recap why I’ve chosen it as the latest Julia’s Pick… but encourage you to read my review of it here.
Some of you might remember my post about my favourite books in 2012. I chose five books that really stood out for me that year. At the top of that list was One Day by David Nicholls. It’s yet another British novel (I seem to have a soft spot for them) and an unconventional love story, like Me Before You. I also wrote about why I loved it here, and have made many friends pick it up too. It’s intricate, heartbreaking and hopeful all at the same time.
Both of these books are must-reads, in my opinion. And they’re of the same genre, so maybe they’d be good to read back-to-back.
That’s it for now folks! Two more unputdownable Julia’s Picks for you – and they’re perfect summer reads.
